How it began ...
After a varied career - most recently as Managing Director of an IT and telecommunications company in Silicon Valley, USA - Dr. Winfried Guba, who holds a doctorate in engineering, founded ICC International Career Consultants in 2003. From the very beginning, his focus has been on supporting international executives in developing and successfully implementing a career strategy that is right for them. A large number of people from different industries and functions up to C-level have been able to take on new and challenging tasks in this way - mainly from Germany, but also returnees from countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, UK or the USA.
Where do we stand today?
In the meantime, we have considerably expanded our network of consultants and can also offer on-site consulting in more than ten countries. In particular, it is important to us to offer high quality and professional support that really helps our clients. For more than ten years, our client satisfaction rate has been over 97%. The success rate of our Placementprograms is 96% overall. Since we only take on a limited number of Placement #Secure-cases that we can fully focus on, we have a 100% success rate here to date.
Team and network
What distinguishes our consultants? Even though individual professional experiences vary greatly, there are a number of commonalities: Our consultants generally have an academic degree, extensive international professional and management experience, training as career or outplacement consultants, and at least five years of practical experience in the field of career reorientation.
Our clients are put in touch with a suitable consultant after the non-binding orientation meeting. In the case of an international move, we offer so-called tandem support on request, with one consultant in the home country and another in the host country.
We have advisors in more than ten countries and are excellently networked - especially with partners in the areas of relocation services, tax, immigration and employment law. In Europe as well as in Silicon Valley I got to know the special situation of executives from different perspectives and am therefore intensively familiar with the career-relevant mechanisms in companies also on an international level.

Dr. Winfried Guba is the founder and owner of ICC International Career Consultants. After completing his studies and doctorate in the field of electrical engineering, he was initially employed as a development manager and later as a business unit manager at the French telecommunications group Alcatel, before taking over the global development activities of the US electronics group Solectron and then the management of a subsidiary in the US Silicon Valley.
Since 2003, he has supported a large number of international executives up to board level through career consulting, outplacement and intercultural trainings as well as mentoring job search consultants.
He regularly discusses specialist topics in the context of many publications, lectures at international level and interviews with media such as Die Welt, FAZ, Handelsblatt, Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, Managerseminare, NDR and ZDF.
Since 2003, he has been a member of the German Society for Career Counseling. In addition, he is the initiator and moderator of the international personnel conference "International Mobility and Talent Management", which is held annually at Herrenhausen Palace under the patronage of the Lord Mayor of the City of Hanover, and an honorary mentor in the worldwide Menttium 100 program.
